Michigan Route 66

Southern Terminus: IN State Line, IN 9, S of Sturgis, St. Joseph County. | Northern Terminus: US 31, Charlevoix, Charlevoix County.

About M-66

At 269 miles in length, M-66 is the only state highway (M-route) to run virtually the entire length of the Lower Peninsula, from the Indiana State Line near Sturgis to the Lake Michigan vicinity in Charlevoix.

Southern Terminus

The southern terminus of M-66 is at the Indiana State Line south of Sturgis. Upon crossing the state line, M-66 turns into IN 9. Not even 0.25 mile after it begins, IN 9 meets the Indiana Toll Road (I-80/I-90, Exit 121). In fact, the first IN 9 South trailblazer (with attached straight-ahead arrow plate) is accompanied by adjacent JCT I-80 and JCT I-90 shields. The motel on the right is on the Indiana side of the border.

This is the northern terminus of IN 9, at the transition into M-66. The motel on the right side here is on the Michigan side of the state line.

The northern terminus of M-66 is at US 31 in the southern end of Charlevoix.
